Product Description

The Top Drive WASHPIPE, ASSEMBLY is the core component of the Top Drive drilling device (Top Drive). It is installed between the SAWIVAL and the drill string to form a rotating sealed channel for high-pressure drilling fluid. Its main body is a corrosion-resistant alloy steel pipe with a multi-stage mechanical sealing system integrated inside, which can maintain dynamic sealing when the drill bit rotates.

After three generations of technological innovation;

First generation (Traditional Wash Pipe Assembly)
Using carbon steel matrix + carbide bushing, relying on multi-layer packing seal, frequent grease maintenance (replenishing grease every 50 hours),
Typical problem: seal failure leads to mud leakage, average life is only 200-300 hours

Second generation (Adjustable Washpipe Assembly)
Using utex packing imported from the United States and domestic supersonic tungsten carbide flushing pipe, greatly extending the life in high pressure, oil-based mud environment.

Third generation (Mechanical Washpipe Assembly)
Improvements: Cancel the independent bushing structure, and only need to replace the dynamic and static rings for each maintenance. Save the time of daily downtime maintenance of the flushing pipe and reduce the impact on the operation.


 

 

 

Mechanical Washpipe Assembly;

A new type of mechanical seal washpipe assembly, including upper connecting nut, static ring, dynamic ring, dynamic ring anti rotation pin, and lower connecting nut. Long service life, simple maintenance, stable operation, only need to replace the dynamic and static rings each time.Under conventional operations, the service life of the washpipe seal can be extended and the continuous operation time can reach 1700 hours; Can provide pressure levels of 5000PSI and 7500PSI; Adapt to NOV and various domestic Top Drive models; Its superiority is more evident in working environments with pressures reaching 5000PSI and temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Celsius; Maintenance free during normal service life, saving time for daily shutdown and maintenance of disc root washpipe, and reducing the impact on operations.

Daily maintenance:

1. Lubrication management: Add grease to key nodes of the equipment every day (2-4 flushes per location)
2. Leakage check: Observe whether there is mud leakage at the connection between the flushing pipe and the main shaft. If the leakage exceeds 5 drops/minute, the machine must be stopped immediately to replace the seal
3. Fastener inspection: Check the flushing pipe fixing bolts and anti-loosening gaskets every day, and the torque must meet the standard
Monthly: Disassemble and inspect the flushing pipe assembly, replace the worn packing, and replace the O-ring if the hardness decreases by more than 15%.
Seasonally: Flushing the hydraulic system, removing impurities in the sealing chamber, oil contamination level NAS-8 or below
