Mechanical system

The mechanical system is composed of main motor system, air cooling system, brake system, gear box, wash pipe assembly, rotating head mechanism, tilt mechanism, back-up tong mechanism, internal blowout prevention mechanism (IBOP), guide rail and carriage mechanism, container, etc.
The top drive is powered by an AC frequency conversion asynchronous motor to realize AC frequency conversion drive.
      1. Main Motor and Air Cooling System
The main motor is a single top drive special AC frequency conversion asynchronous motor with a power of 290KW. The main technical parameters include:

      1. Break System
The top drive main motor is equipped with a set of special hydraulic disc brake device, which can assist the drill string orientation in the directional inclined drilling operation.
The disc brake device is installed at the upper extension end of the motor shaft, using a pair of Swedish DELLNER cylinders connected by a special hard pipeline, durable. When the speed of the main motor is reduced to 3rpm, the friction forces on the brake disc through the brake cylinder can realize the braking function of the main motor.
      1. Gear Box
In order to increase the output torque of the top drive motor, reduce the motor volume and improve the motor performance, one set of gear box is configured.
The gear box is an engineering marvel, utilizing an involute hard tooth surface gear paired with a secondary bevel gear, ensuring seamless and stable transmission. With an impressive transmission ratio of 11.91:1, it combines the best of splash lubrication and forced lubrication through a sophisticated oil pump circulation system to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
      1. Gooseneck Assembly
Purpose-built for well logging, the gooseneck features a corrosion-resistant liner and secure nuts. These components effectively seal the high-pressure mud pipeline during drilling, preventing mud overflow and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted operations.
The gooseneck connects seamlessly to the wash pipe assembly, which is designed for extreme conditions with a super high pressure structure. This vital component is crucial for sealing high-pressure mud, featuring an innovative self-sealing and quick-release mechanism. When wear and tear necessitate replacement of the wash pipe and packing, simply open the cover of the upper and lower packing to effortlessly remove and replace the entire unit, without even the need to detach the gooseneck or the mud hose. This design allows for minimal disruption, enabling quick and easy replacement at any point during the drilling process, facilitating continued operations with maximum efficiency.
At the other end, the gooseneck is connected with the mud hose. This connection is reinforced with a 4-inch female union, utilizing the Fig1003 thread type for enhanced stability and reliability.
A state-of-the-art mud prevention device is installed at the critical junction between the main shaft and the wash pipe, fulfilling the stringent operational requirements of the site.
      1. Rotating Head
This advanced rotating head system operates independently of the main shaft, allowing the elevator links to be conveniently suspended on the link adaptor, ensuring seamless operation.
The system employs a worm gear transmission structure that guarantees smooth and consistent operation.
The rotating head is engineered to rotate smoothly 360° in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, synchronizing the movement of the elevator link and elevator. This integration allows it to securely grasp single pipes in the mouse hole and triple stems on the monkey board, enhancing operational efficiency.
Powered by a robust hydraulic motor system, the rotating head uses a Danfoss cycloid motor with a speed range of 2 to 5 r/min, delivering unmatched precision and control.
      1. Tilt System
The tilt cylinder is a key feature, driving the elevator link to swing and enabling both forward and backward tilt. With forward tilt, the elevator extends to reach the mouse hole and monkey board seamlessly. During drilling, backward tilt ensures the lower surface of the back-up tong aligns perfectly with the drilling platform, maximizing the utility of the drilling tool.
The range of tilt is adaptable to the length of the elevator link, with a forward angle of 30 degrees and a backward tilt of 55 degrees, easily adjustable to meet specific operational needs.

The function of the pressure relief overflow valve is to adjust the working pressure of the balance cylinder to meet the weight of the body; the accumulator acts as buffer, shock absorption and pressure protection. Second line: the main motor brake oil circuit.,consists of EX solenoid reversing valves.
Third line: the oil circuit of motor on rotating head. It is composed of explosion-proof solenoid reversing valve and pressure regulating valve. The damping hole of solenoid valve is made of hard alloy material to improve the service life.
Fourth line: the Oil circuit of remote control internal blowout preventer (IBOP) consists of explosion-proof solenoid reversing valves.
Fifth line: the back-up tong control oil circuit. oil circuit.explosion-proof solenoid reversing valves, equipped with pressure sensor.
Sixth line: the Tilt system oil circuit. It is composed of explosion-proof solenoid reversing valve and throttle check valve and other units. The solenoid valve plays the reversing role, and the throttle check valve makes the elevator link stop in any position for a long time, which can be set to the swing state when the elevator link is in the middle position.
