Mechanical system

The mechanical system is composed of main motor system, air cooling system, brake system, gear box, wash pipe assembly, rotating head mechanism, tilt mechanism, back-up tong mechanism, internal blowout prevention mechanism (IBOP), guide rail and carriage mechanism, container, etc.
The top drive is powered by an AC frequency conversion asynchronous motor to realize AC frequency conversion drive.
      1. Main Motor and Air Cooling System
The main motor is a single top drive special AC frequency conversion asynchronous motor with a power of 290KW. The main technical parameters include:

      1. Break System
The top drive main motor is equipped with a set of special hydraulic disc brake device, which can assist the drill string orientation in the directional inclined drilling operation.
The disc brake device is installed at the upper extension end of the motor shaft, using a pair of Swedish DELLNER cylinders connected by a special hard pipeline, durable. When the speed of the main motor is reduced to 3rpm, the friction forces on the brake disc through the brake cylinder can realize the braking function of the main motor.
      1. Gear Box
In order to increase the output torque of the top drive motor, reduce the motor volume and improve the motor performance, one set of gear box is configured.

      1. Gooseneck Assembly
Our meticulously engineered gooseneck is a game-changer for well logging operations. During drilling, it employs corrosion-resistant liners and nuts, expertly sealing the upper high-pressure mud pipeline to effectively prevent mud overflow, ensuring a safe and efficient drilling process.
The gooseneck's innovative design keeps one end seamlessly connected to the wash pipe assembly. This assembly features a super high-pressure structure, integral for sealing high-pressure mud, and is designed for rapid disassembly. When wear and tear necessitate the replacement of the wash pipe and packing, simply open the covers of the upper and lower packing components. This allows for the effortless removal of the entire device without the need to detach the gooseneck, or the mud hose, thus ensuring a hassle-free process. This design facilitates the ability to pause and seamlessly replace components at any point during the drilling operation, as required.
The opposite end of the gooseneck secures a connection to the mud hose using a robust 4-inch female union, with the thread type specified as Fig1003, ensuring a secure and reliable connection.
To align with operational demands, a mud prevention device is strategically installed at the junction between the main shaft and the wash pipe, delivering superior site operation efficiency.
      1. Rotating Head
Our sophisticated rotating head system is designed for unparalleled functionality, capable of independent rotation apart from the main shaft. The elevator links are adeptly suspended on the link adaptor, ensuring stability and precision for every operation.
A smooth and reliable operation is guaranteed with the adoption of a worm gear transmission structure, engineered for seamless driving.
Our rotating head offers unparalleled versatility as it rotates freely both clockwise and counterclockwise, a full 360°, while simultaneously rotating the elevator link and elevator. This functionality allows for precise handling of single pipes in the mouse hole and triple stems positioned on the monkey board, optimizing operational efficiency.
The hydraulic motor system driving the rotating head is powered by the premium Danfoss cycloid motor, providing a speed range of 2 to 5 r/min, ensuring optimal performance.
      1. Tilt System
Our tilt system features a high-performance tilt cylinder, capable of driving the elevator link to swing smoothly, facilitating both forward and backward tilts. The forward tilt function extends the elevator to the mouse hole and monkey board, while the backward tilt ensures the lower end of the back-up tong aligns closely with the drilling platform, maximizing the utility of the drilling tool.
The tilt system's range is adaptable, dependent on the elevator link's length, offering a forward angle of 30° and a backward tilt angle of 55° (adjustable), providing operational flexibility.

      1. Counterbalance System
Our counterbalance system, a pivotal component of the top drive system, features a suspension bail mechanism. The bail connects to the gearbox via a pin shaft and is suspended from the hook or traveling block, effectively balancing the body's weight. The VSP top drive employs a dual hydraulic cylinder with an internal force balance mode, allowing direct hanging with the hook or traveling block. This design eliminates the need for additional devices, enhancing safety and reliability during operations.
      1. Back Up Tong Assembly
Our back-up tong assembly includes a robust L-type configuration, equipped with one comprehensive set, utilizing a powerful motor and cylinder to clamp, release, makeup and breakout. it can connect and remove the saver sub without disassembly of tong body , facilitate drilling operation. A whole set of pipe handling device is formed with the tilt mechanism and rotating head , which improves the working efficiency of makeup & breakout operation and drilling tool layout operation, and greatly reduces the labor intensity and danger level of the staff.

The actuator of remote control IBOP consists of a pair of hydraulic cylinders, IBOP sliding sleeve, gear, etc. The connection type between the cylinder and the sliding sleeve is the roller touching to ensure that the axial relative movement of the sleeve simultaneously with the rotation of the main shaft , also the drive wrench can realize the opening and closing of the manual IBOP.
This function can quickly close the IBOP once well kick or blow-out to achieve well control safety.
The IBOP sliding sleeve is driven in the form of gear rack with cam gear to improve reliability.
      1. Guide Rail and Carriage
A folding guide rail assembly is configured, including multi sections guide rails, connections, crown block support, adjustment beam assembly and installation accessories.
