1, Daily Maintenance: A Commitment to Excellence
Pristine Cleaning and Precision Lubrication
Ensure the VSP Top Drive Main Shaft remains in optimal condition by meticulously cleaning any mud and oil stains after daily operations. Employ non-woven fabric to gently wipe key areas, like taper joints, protecting them from harmful chemical corrosion.
Adhere to the manufacturer's guidelines for supplementing lubricating grease, such as lithium-based grease. Maintain an oil injection cycle for the main shaft bearings that does not exceed 200 hours, and control the oil injection amount with precision to prevent contamination and ensure peak performance.
Meticulous Fastener Inspection
Conduct regular checks on the pre-tightening force of the main shaft connecting bolts, including lifting ring screws and coupling bolts. Ensure that the torque aligns with technical manual standards, such as the DQ70BS top drive requiring bolt torque of at least 1200N·m.
2, Regular Maintenance: A Proactive Approach
Comprehensive Bearing and Seal Testing
Every 500 hours, disassemble and scrutinize the wear of the Main shaft bearing. Use a micrometer to measure radial clearance, and replace the bearing if clearance exceeds 0.05mm to maintain smooth operations.
Replace seals, such as O-rings, quarterly, prioritizing fluororubber materials to effectively resist hydrogen sulfide corrosion and ensure lasting durability.
Conical Interface Maintenance: Precision and Care
Monthly, assess the wear on the Main shaft cone mouth. If the tool holder's contact rate falls below 75%, perform grinding and repairs to prevent excessive jumping, often caused by a "horn mouth."
3, Fault Prevention and Handling: Vigilance and Response
Real-time Vibration and Temperature Monitoring
Deploy vibration sensors to monitor any abnormal Main shaft vibrations in real-time, with thresholds set to ≤ 2.5mm/s. If the temperature rise surpasses 60 ºC, halt operations immediately to investigate and resolve lubrication or bearing issues.
Swift and Decisive Emergency Measures
In the event of a sudden drill jam, activate the IBOP blowout preventer without delay. Cut off the power supply and manually turn the disc to release torque, preventing Main shaft overload and deformation.
