Hydraulic drilling jars are precision-engineered, featuring two pistons ingeniously separated by a valve. As tension or compression is applied to the armed hydraulic jar, the fluid in one piston is expertly compressed, flowing to the other piston against significant flow resistance. This flow rate is precisely calibrated to control the arming time of the tool-striking a perfect balance where higher pulling or pushing forces result in more rapid arming. The moving distance, known as the stroke, reaches a critical position where compressed fluid is dramatically released through a bypass valve, propelling the fluid toward the second piston and equalizing pressure instantly. The greater the force applied, the higher the fluid's compression, leading to shorter arming times and more robust jarring force.
In scenarios where the drill string becomes lodged at the bottom during drilling, or in the event of twist-offs, our jar delivers an effective upward release motion. For instances when the pipe is ensnared off-bottom in key seats, or for other reasons, the jar efficiently releases by jarring downwards. Utilizing upward reaming methods, the entire drill string can be successfully retrieved, enhancing operational reliability.
When encountering differential sticking, the ability to seamlessly move the stuck pipe is essential to regaining rotation and circulation. Our jars allow for normal up and down movement, ensuring that jar actuation does not disrupt the directional orientation of the drillstring.
